Look Who’s Talking

If you participated in last year’s Soul Music by the Bay Conference, you know there was no shortage of information during the two-day event.  This year is no different and today, we want to introduce you to a few of the power players who will be present at the California Music Industry Summit.

LaToya London-This beauty, inside and out, was introduced to the world as a contestant on American Idol during the 2004 season, alongside R&B singers, Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia.  The songstress whose CD, Love & Life, was herald as one of the best on iTunes in 2005, and who performed the role of ‘Nettie’ in the stage-play, The Color Purple, has stepped into the electro-pop world with her new band, Urban Punk.  Look for LaToya to share the experiences of her wonderful career in music and theatre at CMIS.

Larry Batiste-A publisher extraordinaire, Larry Batiste has written and produced over 250 songs and has performed and recorded with artists such as Tony Bennett, Chaka Khan, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, and recently co-penned the song, Dreamin’, with Keisha Cole and rapper, Young Jeezy.  Co-owner of Pure Delite Music, Larry is the musical director for the Grammy Pre-Telecast. 

Phil Tan-Phil is a recent Grammy winner for his stellar work on Janelle Monae’s, The ArchAndroid.  He has worked with a variety of artists such as Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Ludacris, and Outkast.  Phil will share how you can get into the mix at the California Music Industry Summit.
