California Music Industry Summit is constantly looking for talented local artists to bring into the spotlight. Today we focus on Urban Punk. The band consists of H2O and La Toya London.
According to Urban Punk’s website, “Urban Punk is a music entity that embodies a variety of different genres ranging from Electro to Hip Hop. Our mission is to consistently create innovative music that pushes the boundaries of what we see as the norm.”
H2O is a veteran rapper, songwriter and musician who has worked with artists including Fergie, Black Rob, Nate Dogg and La Toya London. He recently successfully toured with Sergio Mendes.
La Toya London was one of the finalists on American Idol season 3. London released her solo album Love & Life in 2005, under Peak Records, that landed on the Billboard Top 200 Albums list. London’s single “Appreciate/Every Part of Me/All By Myself” reached #8 on the Billboard Singles Sales Chart. La Toya is also an actress, recently starring in the hit Broadway play The Color Purple.
DJ KATarina who is an skilled DJ and producer also accompanies the group. DJ KATarina has worked as a Music Supervisor for MTV. She’s supervised music for fashion shows and has performed at the House of Blues.
Not only will Urban Punk be performing at the California Music Industry Summit on June 10-11, 2011 but La Toya London will be apart of the discussion panel as well!
